John Kennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr were widely known as the foremost and most influential act of the rock era. Some labels they had were EMI, Polydor, Parlophone, Swan, Vee-Jay, Capitol, United Artists, and Apple. The Beatles were the best-selling music group in United States with 178 million certified units. They had more number-one albums on the British charts and sold more singles in the UK than any other act. They earned 10 Grammy Awads in total, Academy Award for the Best Original Song Score, and 15 Ivor Novello Awards.
